At Steak 48, we’re well known in River North Gallery District, for our prime-grade steaks and vibrant dining experience, but we also proudly serve the best seafood in Chicago. All of our seafood is flown in fresh in the morning to ensure that it is of the highest quality for dinner service. All of our seafood is brought in from sustainable and responsible fisheries, and if our shipment does not meet our chef’s standards, it will not make its way into our kitchen.
Our chef has designed our seafood menu to appeal to guests desiring seafood prepared according to classic American steakhouse traditions as well as those looking for original flavors. We have a wide range of seafood options. Our appetizer menu features several tantalizing dishes like our King crab and avocado stack, and many guests love to accompany their steak with sides of sautéed lobster or Oscar style crab cakes.
One of the unique features of our restaurant is that guests have the opportunity to view the action in our glassed-in exhibition kitchen. Prominent in our kitchen is a massive raw bar covered in ice and a mountain of fresh seafood. Our raw bar features the most succulent Alaskan king crab legs, freshest Maine lobster tail and colossal shrimp. Our chef also carefully selects fresh oysters from both the East and West Coasts that are carefully shucked and served on the half shell.

Shetland Island Salmon
Our Shetland Island salmon is brought in fresh from responsible fisheries off of the coast of Scotland. We serve this moist fish braised or spiedini style. This is one of our most popular seafood offerings.
Alaskan King Crab Cluster
When you have a craving for crab meat, our whole Alaskan king crab cluster will satisfy your appetite. These giant crab legs are succulent and juicy. In order to let you savor their natural flavor, we serve them with fresh lemon and drawn butter.
Our towering raw bar gives you the opportunity to sample several different fresh seafood flavors. We complement our Maine lobster tail, colossal shrimp and sucked oysters with our house-made cocktail sauce and fresh horseradish.
We serve the freshest Ahi tuna available. Our sashimi grade ahi tuna is quickly seared with a pepper rub to create a flavorful crust while leaving the inside raw and tender. This fish is greatly enhanced by Japanese flavors such as soy and wasabi. We also have traditional Hawaiian poke available on our appetizer menu.

Our raw bar is stocked with the freshest seafood, including shucked oysters handpicked by our chef. These are great as an accompaniment to our prime-grade steaks, or they can satisfy all on their own.

Brought in fresh from sustainable sources, our Chilean sea bass is a mouthwatering choice when you crave seafood. Our chef brings out its natural flavors with Chardonnay, sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper.
